Whoops, You're RINO is Showing

Yesterday, I introduced myself as the Republican challenger to Vern Buchanan and highlighted (better said, low-lighted) my opponent’s liberal penchant for spending and voting with Democrats.

Oops, He Did It Again

I didn’t plan on writing again for another couple of weeks. Still, not even a day after I shared Vern Buchanan’s Liberty Score, which earned him an F at 57% from Conservative Review as compared to Jim Jordan’s A at 94%, he has added insult to injury and he did it again…again.

DC Draino reported,

“LEAKED - FL Rep Vern Buchanan who now refuses to vote for Jim Jordan for Speaker, was partying last night at the White House bowling alley. He’s been in DC for 8 (actually 9) terms and is now clearly part of the Swamp. He’d rather party w/Dems than listen to his voters.”

Benny Johnson also commented,

“Republican” Vern Buchanan is hard at work trying to unite behind a Speaker — Just kidding, he’s bowling at the Biden White House. Florida Republicans, ask your Congressman why he refuses to back Jim Jordan: DC: (202) 225-5015 FL: (813) 657-1013

During my experience as an entrepreneur, I have experienced many incredibly difficult situations that seemed like impossible circumstances to overcome. I have learned during those times, especially, that it is crucial to confront the brutal facts and simultaneously never lose hope (from the book Good to Great).

The two are difficult to do simultaneously. People tend to do one or the other. People adept at telling it like it is have no problem “confronting the brutal facts.” Yet they often fall to cynicism, defeatism, and hopelessness. On the other hand, people who “never lose hope” oftentimes are reluctant to see a situation for what it actually is. This will weaken the resolve to act.

My point in sharing this is two-fold. First, voters must be aware of who represents them and how they are representing them in government, no matter how difficult and negative it may seem(confront the brutal facts). Secondly, we must hold on to hope and know that we can do better. That requires faith. If you believe in God, then we know that all things are possible with God. If you don’t, have faith in our country and the constitutional republic that is the form of our government, which puts all of the ultimate power in the hands of “We the People.”
