While I was a trustee at New College of Florida, I was outspoken and led in many areas of transformative change that have had a national impact on encouraging other people to take back institutions that have been captured by the militant left.

I brought over Mario Jiminez from Inspiration Academy, the school that I started in Bradenton, to launch an Athletics program at New College. This launch was intended to balance what educational consultants had called a toxic culture. Here is a clip of the reality of that toxic culture and bullying. Where else would a student feel empowered to walk up to a meeting of parents and students because they didn’t look gay and discourage them from attending the school?

Here, the student-elected President of the Senate for New College of Florida interrupts my meeting with a prospective student during a recruiting visit.

Now, after the fact, Pablo Torre from ESPN has the combined ignorance and arrogance to accuse Mario Jimenez of politicizing athletics on college campuses. He goes on to say in a separate Podcast that the students were recruited under the auspice of being “mission-aligned.” He uses that to claim that they were recruited as a political weapon.

First, it is critical to be unified when building a university athletic department. Teams will develop themes and strategies to become mission-aligned; this isn’t some nefarious subterfuge. Pablo, you are digging really deep here.

Please check your facts and do balanced research before running a hit piece to appease your overly-zealous propagandist superiors at ESPN.

And ESPN, just stick to sports, please. We don't want to hear all of this divisive, preachy propaganda of the left, we just want to watch sports.

New College student-athletes need to be mission-aligned to withstand the large contingent of professors and students who are antagonistic toward anything that doesn’t fit within their worldview. Student-athletes have had to be respectful, calm, and impervious to any provocation that might occur. I can say thus far that these student-athletes have performed remarkably. They truly embody the school’s tagline, “free thinkers, risk takers, and trailblazers!”

New College of Florida is being restored to become the gem of Florida’s University System it intended to be.

We can win. It takes courage and an unwavering resolve. Please join me as we take this fight to Washington, DC, and take on the woke corruption of the swamp. To find out how to help, please visit:
